2006 Fleeces
We now have three 2006 fleeces for sale:

  • Vallerie's Lamb Fleece: Lamb fleece shorn Jan 5, 2006. Gorgeous, super clean, 4-5 inch staple, creamy white, and lustrous. As soft a handle as you'd expect from a purebred Romney ewe lamb. It was coated the entire year and this ewe was a show lamb so the tips were all trimmed off. As nice a fleece as you could want. 7 pounds. Update: This fleece was entered to the Shepherd's Extravaganza in Puyallup in April 2006. It took third overall fleece out of the hundreds of entries at this prestigious competition. Thank you so much for the winning bid from Mary of Yelm. This now-yearling ewe currently has a 4" fleece that has been blanketed since shearing and will be for sale when her fleece reaches about 6" long. It has as much breed character and lovely luster as her lamb fleece did. Call now to reserve this fleece.
  • Xavier: Butterscotch-taupe is the color I'd have to describe this wether's fleece. He was shorn January 5, and staple length is approximately 4-1/2 inches. The lovely color and soft handle is really what is special about this fleece. He was coated all year so it is perfectly clean and free of vegetation, but shorn wet (man, was January wet!) and so, like Jamie's fleece (below), it dried with hard tips....If this were shorn dry, it would be a show fleece. I've learned a lesson, and I'll never shear wet again..Because of the hard tips, this fleece will sell for $5.00/lb. This would make a beautiful yarn for a woman's sweater. SOLD.
  • Jamie: Shorn Jan. 5. She has produced the winningest colored fleeces we've ever had. Super soft, heathery brown with a hint of chocolate and grey. Handspinners have pre-purchased her fleeces every year. This year, shorn wet, it has dried hard at the tips which distracts from the beauty of this fleece on the show table. However, it will wash beautifully. 4-1/2 inch staple, and soft enough for baby socks. $5.00/lb. SOLD. Thank you to Kim of Davis, California!

Reserve now: Mina's fleece will come off in early spring -- it should be 6-7" long and is absolutely stunning. Beautiful creamy white with beautiful breed character and luster. She has been coated all year. Should yield 6-8 pounds. Update:This fleece is gorgeous and is now for sale for $7.00/lb. It is approximately 6". Call or e-mail me for a free sample card.

Call or e-mail for more information, but don't delay -- these premium handspinning fleeces won't last long!
